Join the Fleurieu Environment Centre and plant guru Paul Green for a guided walk around the Myponga Reservoir to explore the often-overlooked vegetation of the shallow water, mudflats and reedbeds of the reservoir. A water supply reservoir, like many farm dams, has a wide seasonal range between its high water and low water marks. We will encounter the plants which survive and thrive under these conditions and try and work out how they do it. Many of the plants we will encounter have a conservation status and provide valuable fauna habitat. We will see how the reservoir is providing important conservation functions in addition to water supply. At each stop along our journey, we will observe the birds using that habitat. The tour will be particularly helpful to those people looking for ideas for revegetating degraded farm dams and creeks. All ages welcome.

Booking essential.
